DJ Sbu whose real name is Sibusiso Leope was born on 28th May 1979 in Tembisa, South Africa. He is a South African Kwaito musician, entrepreneur, record label owner, TV presenter and club and radio jock. 

He was the co-owner with Thembinkosi Nciza of TS Records which they decided to shut down in 2017 to focus on their business ventures.He is the founder of the energy drink called Mofaya. The man is everywhere, no doubt, there isn’t a place DJ Sbu hasn’t tried to sell his Mofaya drink at. Ranging from his books, his drinks, music and at this point if you look like you are buying, DJ Sbu is a true hustler our country has produced.

The independent record label, throughout its 25-year rich history, has been the mirror of our own joyride through pop culture – an unapologetic blast of kasi power.

In the process of giving us pulsating dance tones, the gigantic stable has yielded SA’s biggest music names such as Boom Shaka, Bongo Maffin, Mafikizolo and DJ Black Coffee. Kwaito and House music veteran keeps setting the bar high. The DJ and businessman revealed his own Japanese restaurant.

DJ Zinhle, businesswoman, Kario’s mama has been established in the industry for 15 years and she is still thriving and relevant. She has been making a name for herself, Zinhle is a force to be reckoned with, resilient and she is consistently honing her expertise.

The DJ has also shared she is working on Jiyane Atelier, she has a very good eye for interior design and we can not wait to see what she has in store.
If you follow her on social media you will understand her love for interior design, her house decor is breathtaking, she has launched a new home line titled Jiyane Ateliar. While the DJ announced her collaboration with American Swiss moths, the Miss SA 2019 beauty pageant deal. ERA by DJ Zinhle, her watch brand, will create a watch named Mbokodo, which will only be sold exclusively at American Swiss stores.

4. DJ Tira

DJ Tira (real name Mthokozisi Khathi) is a South African DJ, entrepreneur and producer/kwaito artist known for launching the careers of artists including DJ Fisherman, DJ C’ndo and Big Nuz through his music label Afrotainment. He is the sole owner of Afrotainment Project Management that releases music by artists including DJ C’ndo, Big Nuz and AfroSoul.

DJ Tira makes money on hit songs, partnerships, endorsement deals as well as features on the songs of other acts.

It will be recalled that the “Malume” hitmaker recently caused uproar when he revealed how much he charges for features on verses and hooks.

DJ Tira definitely doesn’t come cheap but again, having contributed immensely to the growth of the music industry in South Africa, he seems to be reaping the benefits.


5. Nhlanhla Nciza

Gorgeous Mafikizolo songstress Nhlanhla Nciza, who already has a fashion label called NN Vintage, has announced that she launched a second clothing line. She took to her Instagram to announce the launch. Her new line is called ‘NN Vintage Chic’ and it’s launching in July!

Her style is evident in her first line and we are sure to be seeing the same in this new one. The Afrocentric line is inspired by ’40s and ’80s African fashion. Celebs such as Lira and Khanyi Mbau are fans of NN vintage.
