J’ Something Cake For His Wife

On days like these, It’s the little things that really matter – like getting her cake from mom’s favourite spot. But since that’s closed right now, This Mother’s day I made my wife one of her ultimate favorites!! 100g Pecan Nuts A tbs of water 100g of castor sugar That goes into a pan for about 10min or just until your pecan nuts start to get this beautiful golden brown color. Now transfer them into a baking try lined with baking paper for them to cool. We only using this for garnish. Now for the cake. Into a stand mixer or a bowl add … 2cups self raising flour 1 Tsp salt 1 1/2 cups Dark brown sugar 1 tsp baking powder In a separate bowl add … 4 egg yolks Cup of sunflower oil 1 tbs of vanilla essence And now whisk until smooth and add to dry ingredients and bring together. Now add in your grated carrots (3 of them) and a handful of chopped hazelnuts and combine. Once it’s combined properly add evenly into two different cake tins and bake at 180C for 20min. Once that’s baking make the frosting. It’s delicious and seriously fail proof. Into a stand mixer add … 150g room temperature butter 500g cream cheese Mix together for around 8min. Then add … 2 cups icing sugar and mix for a further 10min. Lastly add in 2 tbs of lemon juice and mix for a further 2min. Boom … now ice the cake and serve! Now listen im no baker but this carrot cake GOES IN!! No matter how good the recipe, the experience is never quite the same, that’s why the real gift is a Rally For Your Bar and Restaurant Voucher. #It’s this really dope initiative that @stellaartoisafrica is doing to make sure your favourite spot is still around after lockdown. All you have to to is buy a voucher for her spot and Stella Artois will add an extra 50% for free, so you can do Mother’s Day properly after lockdown. Save mom’s favourite place.
